Job Description:

SOS Sahel Ethiopia is a humanitarian and development organization running wide range of projects chiefly oriented to Natural Resources Management, Food Security, Value-chain Development, Drought response and Action Researches. The organization currently operates in Oromia, Amhara & SNNP Regional States. SOS Sahel Ethiopia is therefore, accepting applications from interested, qualified & experienced individuals for the position mentioned here under.
Position: Programs Coordinator
The Programs Coordinator is one of the senior positions in the organization with the overall responsibility to technically and administratively coordinate activities under its portfolio. The post holder ensures SOS Sahel fulfils its donor and government contractual obligations in timely, professional and satisfactory manner. The post holder will line manage Team Leader of projects under its portfolio and support the Director of SOS Sahel Ethiopia in fund raising.
The specific duties and responsibilities of the post are outlined below:   
Support the Executive Director in developing new initiatives in line with the country strategy of SOS Sahel Ethiopia
Participate in the feasibility study, appraisal, design, fundraising, and   negotiation with government and other development partners
Lead the development of annual report and plan (both activity & financial) for field and research projects/programs under its portfolio for annual submission to respective donors, government and for internal use as management tool
Conduct periodic visit to projects under its portfolio to provide technical   backstopping, monitor work progress, and ensure that the project/s partners fulfil their responsibilities as stipulated in the project/s document and keep them informed
Review annual work plan and budgets of the programmes/projects under its portfolio, ensure their proper implementation as per the budget and time frame indicated in the project document and bring any deviation from the original plan to attention of the Executive Director
Duty Base: Addis Ababa - Head Office, with frequent field visits
Mode of Employment: For six months with possibility of extension
Salary: As per the scale of the organization

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:
MSc / MA Degree in Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, and Related Fields,
Minimum of 8 (eight) years relevant work experience, preferably in the NGO sector,
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to coordinate and work effectively in team situations, and also strong background and experience on Pastoral Development issues,
Project planning, monitoring and reporting skills,
Proven communication of written and spoken English,
