Job Summary
The Marketing Officer will play a vital role to plan and oversee AHF Ethiopia’s marketing activities and campaigns. The officer will be the one to ensure that all marketing operations are successful in meeting the goals set by the organization. A Marketing officer must have great enthusiasm for all marketing activities and knowledge of relevant techniques and principles. The goal is to ensure that the marketing efforts of the organization add the highest value to its services.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with AHF-Ethiopia Prevention Program Manager and the respective team to primarily coordinate the planning and implementation of AHF’s HIV service marketing strategies
  • Supporting the Prevention Program Manager in overseeing AHF Ethiopia’s marketing operations
  • Organizing, performing and attending marketing activities or events to raise AHF Ethiopia and its services awareness
  • Plan advertising and promotional campaigns for AHF services on a variety of media options
  • Liaise with stakeholders and vendors to promote success of activities and enhance the organization’s presence
  • Consistently monitor and evaluate performance of suppliers all ventures through to completion
  • Prepare appropriate contents for the publication of marketing materials in collaboration with the prevention and medical teams
  • Continuously oversee the design, production, delivery, and distribution of all marketing materials without any delay and wastage
  • Assist the prevention department on market research to identify opportunities for promotion of AHF service facilities growth
  • Help the Prevention and Medical Team in organizing events and exhibitions for the promotion of AHF services
  • Monitor the progress and implementation of marketing strategies and make necessary amendments as deemed necessary
  • Prepare monthly regular reports and activity specific reports of all marketing activities
  • Collaborate with the Country Management Team in preparing work-plan and budget

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or other related field from a recognized university with more than 3 years’ experience in a field preferably related to HIV/AIDS and specified responsibilities
  • Proven experience as marketing officer or similar role with good knowledge and understanding of best practices of marketing; effective public relation and communication management skills
  • Thorough understanding of media activities and their application for marketing
  • Flexible, proactive and able to organize work independently as well as work in a team
  • Results oriented and exposure to environments that require working under pressure
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal communication abilities with good command of  English Language
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
