Urban Resilience Officer

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT)is seeking to hire an Urban Resilience Officer who will support the organization of the CityRAP tool implementation in three Ethiopian cities; provides guidance and technical support to the focal points of the three Ethiopia cities for data collection during the CityRAP implementation; supports and facilitates the dialogue with the city administrations and all stakeholders involved in the CityRAP process.

Contract type: SB4(SC)—Service Contract (SC) is a non-staff contractual modality.
Duration: One year (renewable).

Qualification and experience: Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Urban Economics, Urban development or Management, Urban studies or a related field is required.

Interested applicants must have at least 4 years of relevant and progressively responsible working experience (six years with first degree) at national or international level in the areas of urban and regional planning; training on the fields of urban development; in-depth knowledge of the Ethiopia’s urban development context and familiarity with the relevant policies, strategies and plans for urban development in Ethiopia; familiarity with the resilience concept and experience in the implementation of resilience-related projects or initiatives at urban level; experience in interacting, collaborating, working and effectively managing partnerships with high level governmental officials/institutions and development partners.
