Job Description:

Selam Children’s village invites competent and qualified candidates for the following position on a Contract basis.

BA in Accounting
Experience: 6 years of service

General Purpose: The Project senior accountant is responsible for applying Accounting principles and procedures to analyze Financial Information, prepare accurate and timely Financial Reports and Statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
In line with the established procedures and directives from the Chief Accountant the accountant shall perform the following tasks of SCV Projects.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Marinating separate Records (expenditures files) for the different sources of Funds and Projects accordingly.
  • Keep Files properly until submitted to the Auditors with corresponding Projects’ Reports.
  • Follow—up replenishment of purchase cash funds and/or petty cash funds of the Projects.
  • Maintain & check Ledgers for staff’s advances and follow up settlements.
  • Ensure Financial Records of Projects are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Check, compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts of Projects.
  • Reconcile the Bank Statements with the Bank Books of Projects.
  • Ensure all Financial Reporting deadlines of the Projects are met.
  • Prepare financial management reports for the Projects.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of Accounting control procedures.
  • Resolve Accounting discrepancies and irregularities of the Projects.
  • Continuous management and support of Budget and forecast activities
  • Monitor and support taxation issues.
  • Develop and maintain Financial Data Base
  • Financial Audit preparation and coordinate the Audit process of the Projects.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of Revenues and Expenses.
  • Analyze and advise on Business operations including Revenue and Expenditure trends, financial commitments and future Revenues.
  • Analyze Financial Information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to Business and Financial problems.
  • Assist in the preparation of Accounting and Finance Reports.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the chief accountant
